Let the Dragon Speak.
It may scorch the heaviness in your heart.
Or it could turn your guts soft.
You will want to run away, I know.
I did. I ran.
I ran away for many years.
But the Dragon has the Key with a twisted shaft. And if you truly want to be free, you will listen to what the Dragon has to say.
Shall I tell you, at least, the Dragon’s name?
YORÉ.
YORÉ MOSHONS.
Say it out loud. Say it over and over until you understand the meaning of this name. Then you will know why I ran away for so many years. You will understand the urge to back away and leave it all in the dark. But don’t do this! You DO have the courage and you will find a power beyond everything you have ever known. Take the key!
Let this Dragon Speak!
Acrylic on Wood. I made this piece for two young, wild boys to hang on their treehouse. I painted the piece before I had collected “correct” art supplies. I made my own Gesso-substitute from acrylic paint, water and wood glue. I built the shield from scrap wood, sketched the Dragon, enlarged him using an old-school grid method and transferred him using Carbon Paper. I then painted in Acrylics and finished him with a Clear Varnish. I gave him to his humans, and they screamed with glee. I enjoyed the project so much, I plan to continue. Thank you for checking out my art! I wish you a fun and fierce day.
